Benefits of Choosing Santa Margherita Quartz As Floor Material

Easy to Clean

SM Quartz is durable and easy to clean. For daily maintenance, you can utilize a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Afterward, thoroughly rinse the floor surface with water and dry it with a soft cloth or paper towel. You can also use products specifically designed for natural stone.

Low Maintenance

The non-porous surface of SM Quartz translates to low maintenance requirements. Unlike natural stone which requires periodic sealing, SM Quartz floor doesn't need sealing to maintain its resilience against stains and spills. SM Quartz also has greater hardness properties. Its hardness and density contribute to resistance against scratches and other impacts, ensuring your floor remains unblemished.

Acid & Liquid Resistant

SM Quartz polished surfaces are highly resistant to liquids and acids such as coffee, wine, or lemon juice. This type of quartz is highly resistant to staining, making it easier to clean up spills and prevent permanent marks on the surface. In the event of a spill, it is recommended that the floor be cleaned swiftly to avoid potential damage.

SM Quartz flooring is renowned for its exceptional durability. Engineered with a blend of natural quartz crystals and advanced polymer resins, it possesses remarkable strength that stands the test of time. Due to its durability, this type of flooring is also less susceptible to damage during cleaning compared to other delicate materials.

Aesthetic Versatility

One of the standout advantages of using SM Quartz for flooring is its diverse range of designs and colors. Whether you're seeking a classic, contemporary, or avant-garde aesthetic, you'll uncover a variety of options to suit your preferences. Unlike natural stones that can show variations in color and pattern, SM Quartz offers consistent color and pattern throughout each slab. This uniformity can be particularly desirable when seeking a seamless and cohesive look in large spaces.

Thanks to its exceptional durability and resistance to wear and tear, SM Quartz is known for its longer lifespan. When proper cleaning is ensured, the quality and appearance of SM Quartz will be visually appealing for years. Choosing this flooring option means investing in a surface that will continue to look stunning for many years, reducing the need for frequent replacements.

How to Clean Santa Margherita Quartz Floor?

Daily Cleaning

Just like any other surface in your house, the SM Quartz floor will need daily cleaning to ensure it can look polished and properly maintained at all times. To clean SM Quartz surfaces daily, you will need a soft-bristle broom or vacuum cleaner, a damp cloth or microfiber mop, and a small quantity of your chosen cleaning solution.

Begin with a soft-bristle broom or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to remove loose dirt and debris from the surface. Next, use a microfiber mop or a damp cloth to wipe down the surface, eliminating dust and smaller particles.

For routine cleaning, a blend of mild dish soap and warm water works wonders. But you can also use neutral or slightly acidic pH detergent as the cleaning solution. Wipe the surface with this solution utilizing a soft cloth or mop. Then rinse the floor with clean water to remove any soap residue, and dry it thoroughly to prevent water spots. Do keep in mind that SM Quartz surfaces contain mother-of-pearl chips, thus they shall not be cleaned with acidic detergents.

Deep Cleaning

Periodically, it's important to perform a deeper clean to tackle ingrained dirt that may be present in the SM Quartz surfaces. For deep cleaning, utilize a pH-neutral stone cleaner to protect the quartz's surface while effectively clearing any stubborn grime. Apply the stone cleaner as instructed and gently scrub the surface using a soft-bristle brush or mop. Rinse the area with clean water and ensure it is thoroughly drying.

How to Deal with Spills & Stains?

Although SM Quarts display excellent resistance to stains, tackling stubborn stains might need special steps. To prevent stains from setting in, it is important to act swiftly when dealing with any spills. Blot the spills with a soft cloth or paper towel, and avoid rubbing it to prevent the spreading of the spills.

If any stain appears on the SM Quarts, deal with it immediately by creating a mixture of baking soda and water. Apply the paste to the stained area and gently scrub. Afterward, you can rinse and dry thoroughly. For stubborn stains, you can treat them with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water, and follow the same process as above. Do keep in mind that it is important to avoid using abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they can damage the surface.

As mentioned before, SM Quartz surfaces contain mother-of-pearl chips. Thus, it should be cleaned with neutral pH detergents. Using acid detergent will damage the mother of pearl.

Other Cleaning Tips

Avoid exposing SM Quartz to chemicals and solvents, especially paint removers, that might contain methylene chloride. Not only that, solvents, acetone, alcohol, thinners, detergents containing bleach, or abrasive and micro-abrasive detergents should also be kept away from SM Quartz.  Should any of the above-listed liquids drip on the surface, remove it immediately and thoroughly rinse with water.

Even when an occurrence of exposure to alkaline effects does not damage SM Quartz, highly alkaline detergents are not advised to be used for cleaning. This is because the use of highly alkaline detergents can damage the surface of the SM Quartz.
